Hi, I'm Jamie P., but "Pea" works. Former London art-world minion turned restaurant-world pastry minion, I moved to Beijing in 2013. I'll bet you can just imagine the weirdness and wonderfulness of it all... well, I decided to finally start documenting.
I'm mostly about the food, but not just the eating part of it. I like how food is cross-cultural connector; it's something I'd had to navigate during my previous lives in Hong Kong, New Jersey USA, Scotland, London and now Beijing. It also seems to make people happy!
I write about exotic ingredients I discover in China and abroad, and share fresh recipes I've learned or made - especially through the ups and downs of all the experimenting I do in my day job, as F&B director of JoySeed Gourmet Breakfast delivery services in Beijing and Shanghai.
I also include snapshots of life in the "Jungle Jing" as well as occasional travels (more like food excursions), to share the many ways that life and love and the love of food is celebrated.
